Hammers Undone By Baines

West Hams' worrying form continued yesterday after getting beaten 3-2 by Everton. The 'Hammers' did take the lead on 2 occasions but failed to maintain or build on the momentum; and they were subsequently pegged back.

West Ham youngster Ravel Morrison had made it 1-0 scoring his first Premier League goal from close range, before Leighton Baines made it 1-1 with a fantastic free kick that leveled the game. With Everton bringing on Romelu Lukaku; they really ceased the momentum and started to dominate, but it was West Ham who once again took the lead after captain Kevin Nolan was fouled in the area, Mr Reliable Mark Noble stepped up and placed in home with no problem. Soon after things started to go downhill; after Noble was sent off for a second bookable offense, Baines scored another fantastic free kick and a few minutes later Everton went 3-2 up after new boy Lukaku showed great courage by scoring a header but colliding with Rb Joey O'Brien in the process, what left the striker dazed up until the final whistle.

A thrilling game at Upton Park but West Ham fans will no doubt feel gutted about this result, we have failed to beat Everton in our last 11 meetings and our home form is something we want to build on, last season we struggled away from home but we all knew when it came to home games how difficult we can be to play for anybody!

Fans have already described their dissapointment with some fans blaming the ref and others describing our play going forward as 'awful.' Personally I feel we were evenly matched, Everton are a good side and although we didn't get the points on this occasion we can take positives from the game, one being that we finally hit the back of the net!

To surmise, we were undone by Leighton Baines, a real master-class in how to take a good free kick and all we can do now is prepare for our game against Hull City (Tigers) next week, now if we lose that game we'll see where that leaves us then but their are still plenty of matches left...
