As most of you will know, the transfer window closed last night and many Premier League clubs were eagerly waiting in anticipation of a new signing. West Ham couldn't be included in that, although rumors were circulating of potential targets; I think we all knew nothing was going to be done, firstly we needed to sell players to trim down the wage bill-and secondly all the targets linked were well out of a realistic, affordable wage.
Like many I was hoping we could sign a new forward, performances against Newcastle and Stoke have proved that we lack a serious goal threat and now we only have 2 first team Strikers up until January, one of whom is quite injury prone and the jury is still out on Mobido Maiga.
My grievous is this, we've had enough time to sign a new forward and sort finances out but now we have the constant worry of one of our forwards getting injured. I can't see how things will improve either; how are we going to sign any more players even on loan or free transfers if we are that close to the wage cap?
I'm still optimistic of a successful campaign but I can see it being a struggle up until January.
What are your thoughts on our dealings?
