We Should Offer Jussi A New Contract

With current first choice goalkeeper; Adrian really establishing himself between the posts this season, it always looked like it was going to be difficult for ex Bolton and Finland international Jussi Jaaskelainen to get any real game time.

Since Joining from Bolton back in 2012, I for one believe that Jaaskelainen  has been one of our better, more reliable signings.  You have to take into consideration that this was a 37 year old goalkeeper, who at the time was being kept out of the Bolton side by Adam Bogdan, with some even questioning if the ex Finish international should carry on. Well carry on he did - and at times he was magnificent for our lot.

Obviously you'd expect Adrian to still remain as the first choice for the foreseeable future but the role of second choice keeper is still pivotal and rather than searching for a new keeper, spending money and more wages, i think that offering Jussi another year could be the better option.

Obviously it's down to the player himself whether he accepts a new deal - and lets face it, at the age of 40 he might decide to call it a day, and c'mon, who could blame him?
