Does Andy Carroll Warrant £100K a Week

With the news that Andy Carroll has signed for us in a £15 million deal on £100k a week, the question has to be asked... Does he warrant that sort of money?

Look, don't get me wrong I appreciated Andy's contribution towards the latter end of the seasons but apart from that... What did he really do?
Injured on his first game against Fulham; fair enough that's unfortunate and it was only natural for it to take some time to heal and get back to full fitness-and I remain adamant that none of us would be too fussed about the possibility signing Carroll January/February time!

Although many of you will see singing the big man as a 'step forward' I see it as a step back, he isn't the type of player to bag you 20 goals a season anyway (although his wage would indicate otherwise), his motives are questionable as-well, I want a player to join West ham for the thrill of playing at Upton park and in front of our passionate fans (delusional I know); not because his best mate is there and a manager he is familiar with, some may argue that was an 'extra incentive' no that was the only incentives!
There is no questioning AC ability when fit but for a young striker he has a poor injury record- and from past experience I am worried that we could get lumbered with a player who is on massive wages but doesn't feature often.

With the departure of Carlton Cole and seemingly inevitable farewell of Modibo Maiga we are in desperate need of fire power, even with the arrival of Andy Carroll, so I would have preferred it if we had of evaluated our options and not put all of our eggs into one basket.

But anyway good Luck to Andy and hopefully he can prove me wrong!
