With the return of the 'Special One' to Chelsea, it would appear that many Chelsea players could be heading to the exit door, Including January signed Demba Ba.
With Demba being an ex West Ham player it was only natural for him to be linked with us-but it would appear that there is serious interest being shown. Although Ba was only in East London for a short period of time he proved his worth by scoring an impressive 7 goals in 12 appearances for the Irons, even with the arrival of Andy Carroll we still need more attackers for cover purposes, injuries etc...
Although Demba's form for Chelsea hasn't been spectacular since he arrived at Stamford Bridge, there is no doubting that he's a proven goal-scorer and would be a worthy acquisition to the West Ham front line.
With a loan move looking the more likely option we should be able to work a deal out with Chelsea regarding wages and a possible permanent deal. Whether or not Ba would fancy a return to Upton Park remains unknown but chances are he would, considering we took a gamble on him when nobody else was willing too, Tony Pullis pulled out of a deal to sign the Senegal international citing a recurring knee problem it would seem perfect for Demba to repay the faith we installed into him!
As a player that can hold his own in the air he would suit Big Sam's style so there is no worry of him being out of his depth, and I believe he could work well along side Andy C and the two could create a deadly partnership.
