Back in 2008 Jack Collison broke into the West Ham first team, with solid performances under boss Gianfranco Zola it didn't take long for Jack to establish himself as a key player in midfield or out wide.
It looked as-if the famous West Ham youth academy had produced another top quality player, they did.
Voted as the fans young player of the year and with Jack continuing to turn heads things were looking great for the player and club until the player suffered various long term knee problems. With the recurring knee problems hindering any sort of playing time, Jack had to endure 14 months before he could play football again.
Since returning Jack struggled to regain his first team spot that he worded had to gain, fitness problems also followed the player. With new managers coming and going, new transfers soon arrived continuing to make it harder for Collison to replicate the good form he once showed.
Sam Allardyce has been very vocal about Jack's knee problem; stating that it will never be 100% and comparing it to the problems that Ledley King faced. Not only as a West Ham fan but as an all round football fanatic I have to say that this it's a shame to hear that news, only 24 you would hope that Jack has many years ahead of him in football.
After returning from more injury troubles; last season Jack managed to get a few games under his belt even bagging a couple of goals in the process against Stoke and Arsenal, but how hard could it prove to be for Jack to become a regular starter?
Due to his knee is it possible that he'll never get pushed too hard; as a precaution and so he don't cause any more damage. We now know that Jacks knee will never fully recover and I'm sure the fitness team will know how to monitor that situation in order to get the best out of the player. The likelihood of ever selling Jack is slim; even if we wanted to as most teams are skeptical about signing a player with a constant injury threat.
Is Jack to good to be a rotation?
