It has been just confirmed that West Ham have pulled out of a deal to sign Estudinates striker, Duzan Zapata. Within the last week in was reported that the hammers where hoping to bring the 22 year old over; but gaining a work permit proved too difficult.
Slightly disappointing as a new striker is desperately needed,I had high hopes for Zapata but on the other hand; I was skeptical about signing a player with no experience in a big league, and the difficulty he would face trying to adapt to the Premier League. So have West Ham dodger a bullet?
My main worry comes if we can't secure a striker within the next week or two, so far we have been very quick and precise with identifying out targets and signing them up, but upfront it has been a different story and their seems to be a bit of panic coming from the fans.
On the plus side, could this spark interest in local lad Gary Hooper?
With it being widely reported that the Celtic man is on the verge of a move to Qpr, could West Ham make an 11th hour bid and secure the services of the striker?
As I said, disappointing about Zapata but I remain optimistic that Sam and the two David's can pull something off, relatively quickly.
If you could decide, realistically; who would be your pick as the new West Ham striker?
