Hammer Blow

It would appear that West Ham United have missed out on two transfer targets, Demba Ba and Romelu Lukaku. This is a disappointing situation for the hammers as either players would have been a great addition to the squad.

It's not a secret that we are hoping to strength the attacking area, and with the future of Modibo Maiga still uncertain, Sam Allardyce will be hoping to conclude a deal sooner rather than later.
Signing a new striker has to be a top priority (if it wasn't already), with Andy Carroll unlikely to of recovered from his heel injury in time for the new season, we will be dangerously fragile in the six yard box!

My preference would have been to secure the services of Lukaku for the season, the player was a real revelation at a strong West Brom side last season and would have acted as worthy cover for AC, who knows he might of even eclipsed over him as the first choice.
Don't get me wrong it would have been great to see Demba back in the claret and blue of  West Ham but with a move to Russian in offing and the crazy money they can afford to pay him; its was to be expected.

It remains unknown as to who AC striker partner will be, will same go for a quick fix solution and look at a short term loan deal just to cover the time Andy will be out?

With more and more players being linked by the day it'll be interesting to see who will be our new striker and  how to will fit in to life in East London.
