Will Panic Set In At West Ham?

The most important topic on top of the West Ham agenda; has to be the signing of a new striker.
Its ironic how in recent years we've had an abundance of strikers like Chamakh, Paulista, Cartlon Cole, Baldock and Maynard. With all moving on, we just have two-first team strikers at the club; one of those (Andy Carroll) is currently injured.

With the papers linking us to many different options, its clear that we still remain uncertain on who our new striker will be. The worry I have is that we'll soon panic and pay over the odds. Teams will soon figure out how desperate we are and a few extra million is likely to get added.

In the upcoming weeks you can expect us to get linked with many different strikers, Hooper, Remy and Crouch automatically spring to mind. Whether a short term deal is completed or long term, something needs to be sorted and quick. I'm not doubting Big Sam and the two David's abilities in brining in new players but the longer it goes on and panic will start to set in for the fans and squad.

With individuals close to West Ham talking about Europe, a decent well proven striker is needed;ideally  instead of a quick fix solution. Last season was extremely close with 3 points separating 18th from 10th up until the last couple of games, Iv expressed my concerns of how the teams around us have strengthen their squads dramatically, in plenty of time.

Is this typical West Ham getting out of their depth with our supposed transfer targets and inevitably getting let down?
