But ex West Ham legend Tony Cottee last night had his say, after the 0-0 draw against Southampton and I have to say that I totally agree with him.
It is going to be a long season if we persist with Maiga up front. I think I could have contributed more 2day .... at the age of 48 .... !!

I'd love to see Elliot Lee given a chance, at least we'd get 100% effort and a player with the ability to score goals ....

These were just a couple of 'tweets' from the ex hammer frontman and joking aside from the 'at the age of 48' comment, I definitely think that Tony hit the nail on the head with his analysis. We seriously struggled to create any real opportunities yesterday and we can't keep relying on Kevin Nolan!
Mobido Maiga wasn't enough of a goal threat and looked well out of his depth, if it wasn't for our goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen we would have been in for a long and difficult afternoon.
Carlton Cole is still training with the club and Petric looks set to make his debut next weekend against Everton and it couldn't come sooner! I'm still confident of a successful campaign but at the moment we need more quality upfront and that should hopefully make us more of an attacking threat.
