Hull Result Was Unlucky

Over the past weekend West Ham fans hoped that their side would be able to gain some more security by beating Hull City Tigers in a game that was there for the taking for both sides.

Although the East Londoners were largely dominant for most of the game; they failed to convert their chances and were narrowly beaten after a controversial penalty was awarder when Hull winger Robbie Brady was deemed to have been shoved in the area by West Ham right back Joey O'Brien, with Brady converting the resulting penalty, Hull were made to work in order to maintain the lead with James Tomkins having he's header cleared off the line and the 'Hammers' also had a penalty decision of their own turned down.

Overall, it was a frustrating game for West Ham and we couldn't capitalise on the chances we had, that mixed with numerous incidents with the ref proved a disappointing result. The penalty awarded was the main talking point and will certainly hurt for a few days but if it was the other way round I wouldn't be complaining so we'll have to let this one go!

For the moment I'm not worried but these are the types of games that you want to be winning not losing and struggling to score in.
Our first 6 fixtures were good and all looked as-if we could gain some points but apart from the opening day 2-0 victory against Cardiff we have struggled to win any more of our games and with our game against Tottenham on Sunday things will only get harder.

Most teams go through a difficult run in the season but we need to start putting some points on the board before the teams above us start pulling away.
