After failing to prove himself at our club, Mobido Maiga is set to be sold in the January transfer market. Their was interest mounting in the Malian in the summer but Sam Allardyce had to keep him as we would have been without any first team strikers going into the new season.
It hasn't really worked for Maiga and he has appeared distant in the games he has played in, although I did have high hopes for him when he was signed; I suppose their was a reason why Allardyce didn't play him for most of last season.
It's being a reported that a bid in the region of £2 million is the sum required to sign Maiga and although thats a loss on what we paid for him, I'd be happy with that amount.
In other news, Carlton Cole has returned on a 3 month contract!
It was well known that Carlton looked set to return but he had to prove his fitness before any contracts talks were brought up and after working hard in the gym he will be welcomed back to West Ham and is fit for our clash against Manchester City on Sunday.
With Mladen Petric now returning to full fitness and Cole returning I'm hoping that our striking crisis can quickly be resolved. Andy Carroll is supposedly looking at a November return so we can all look forward to that but Petric and Cole should take the strain and worry away from Carroll for the time being.
