Should We Be Interested

Behind the ego, laid back attitude and the money their is Dimitar Berbatov. A fantastic player on his day but catching him on his day can be the difficult part!

This past week has seen much speculation surrounding the Bulgarian born strikers future at Fulham. Teams like ourselfes, Arsenal and old club Tottenham have all been linked with Berbatov but should we be interested?

New Fulham manager Rene Meulensteen last night described Dimitar as one of the 'top 3' players in the world so it's clear that he would preferably keep Dimitar at Craven Cottage and it was confirmed by the players' agent that he's preference would be to remain in England.

Although, Dimitar would provide a huge dent into our wage budget but it's almost a certainty he would bring goals, it's his ever present laid back attitude what could be the problem. Since arriving in England to play for Tottenham he has often had his critics for trying to be too cool on the football pitch and that is something we currently don't need.

Like Fulham we are currently involved in a bit of a relegation battle and If Berbatov can't pull them out of it, how is he going to score enough goals to help us progress up the table?

At all of he's previous clubs he has never really been the main striker, basically he's had other striker around him to take the pressure off of him, so I'm not sure if he could handle the work load until Andy Carroll gets back to full fitness.

Truth be told, I would prefer if we looked elsewhere on another striker.
