Over the last few games I have noticed a growing trend, that tend is the supposed 'quick-fix' substitutions that Big sam keeps making. It seems as-if the players are not really given a chance, for example, I was under the impression that Carlton Cole was playing well against Crystal Palace on Tuesday but he was subbed. Now at this current moment in time Carton is our main goal threat, that is something I didn't envision myself saying a few months back but it's true.
So why sub him when we are 1-0 down?
This season It seems as if it only takes one goal to kill us off, after all we have been struggling to consistently score goals and teams know that 1 goal is all that it takes.
The substitution's that are made very rarely make any sort of impact and these are players that we expect to be starting like Diame and Jarvis. I feel as if mentally it give the opposition the edge and we look very desperate.
I'm all up for experimenting with the team and changing tactics for the element of surprise kind of thing but it doesn't seem the have any sort of impact and I'm worried that the opposition know what our next move is going to be.
So, are we starting to look desperate?
