It has been confirmed that West Ham have signed Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Roger Johnson for the remainder of the season, and Johnson looks set to make his debut in tomorrow nights Capital One Cup Semi Final 1st leg encounter against Manchester City.
The signing of Johnson would have surprised West Ham fans and is certain to earn Big Sam more ridicule and with good reason, as Roger has been relegated with his last 3 clubs and that is a statistic he will be hoping to avoid this time around.
Many hammers fans didn't welcome the signing of Johnson and the only winners in all of this appeared to be parent club Wolves as their fans took to social media sites to express their gratitude to West Ham.
Although I am skeptical about this signing, it can't be denied that we needed a defender, admittedly Roger Johnson wouldn't have been top of any West Ham fans list of 'must buy's but he could surprise us and I hope he can prove all the doubters wrong!
In other transfer news, Sam Allardyce confirmed earlier that we are close to making one-two more signings-and it's being reported that the players in question are Monaco Forward Lacina Traore and Inter Milan forward Ishak Belfodi.
This news will most certainly be welcomed as we still need new strikers to cover while Andy Carroll regains full fitness, speaking of Carroll; he is expected to make his first team return next week!
