The Cameroon international has signed on a season long loan deal. The ex Arsenal man will not be included in todays game against Southampton but is expected to play a key part on the hammers season.
Parent club Barcelona are expected to pay most of his wages and no loan fee was required.
With the deal for Alex being confirmed it's expected that fellow Midfielder Mohamed Diame is expected to leave Upton Park, with Hull and Qpr being touted as possible destinations
