Ex West Ham Player Alessandro Diamanti is nearing a switch to Italian giants Juventus.
Since leaving West Ham Diamanti returned to Italy and he has been making a big name for himself out there, when he left us back in 2010 I was disappointed as I felt he played quite well and he had that crazy Italian image about him (sound familiar)?
At club level Diamanti has performed on a consistently good basis for Brescia and Bologna and the biggest move of his career appears imminent. While at West Ham we gained a small insight into what he was about, not only did he add flair to the side but he also possessed a great deal of skill and appeared to be a very passionate individual. With only a year spent in the Premier League he most certainly left an impact.
Within the last year Diamanti stock has grown considerably, internationally he has proved a revelation for Italy recently scoring two free kicks in a Confederations Cup game, It's disappointing that Diamanti only got a season under his belt for us I felt he still had much to offer us; it was reported that he left due to personal problems, so it was inevitable that he wouldn't remain in England for to long.
Alessandro Diamanti can be seen as a real success story, although he wasn't with us for long I'm happy for us to claim a part in his current and future success.
