Ex West Ham striker Marlon Harewood is currently undergoing a 3 day trial with rivals Millwall in a bid to win a contract with the Championship club.
Since the arrival of Steve Lomas some of the Millwall fans voiced their concerns over the appointment of an ex West Ham player, but Lomas is aiming to win the fans over quickly and with a trial offered to Harewood he seems keen on strengthening the attacking area. If all goes well for Marlon he will be the second Ex West Ham player to join Millwall in recent times; with goalkeeper Stephen Bywater recently being signed on a free.
If you're expecting me to go on a rant and slag off Harewood for accepting a trial, you are are sadly mistaken. Marlon Harewood has to of been one of the best strikers we have had in recent years, I'll never forget the last minute goal he scored against Arsenal, magical! Compared to some Marlon was quite a consistent goal scorer throughout his duration with West Ham, this was at a time when we had players like, Zamora and Ashton so he did well to sustain the challenge.
After falling out of favor Harewood left West Ham for Aston Villa but failed to replicate the form he once showed the claret and blue of West Ham, after many loan spells and even a stint in China it's safe to say that the best moment of Marlon's career came at West Ham United, and I thank him for the goals and memories.
If he joins Millwall good luck to him!
