Relationships Re-Built

After appearing in all of West Ham's pre-season games so far, it would appear that Alou Diarra has a future In East London. News we didn't expect to hear a couple of months back after the player publicly criticised manager Sam Allardyce and the agent who made the move happen.

This has to be good news for West Ham fans, Diarra is a very reliable midfielder and looked good in the few games he played for us, due to an injury he didn't really get the opportunity to play in the first half of the season-and upon his return Alou must have felt he would automatically gain a first team spot, something that didn't happen-and rightfully so!

With Alou we have the midfield version of Nicolas Anelka, he doesn't smile much but on the pitch he can cause the opposition real problems. Alongside the likes of Kevin Nolan, Mohamed Diame, Diarra could work wonders in the centre midfield area, he often drops back and seems very comfortable either way, in the 3rd round cup replay against Manchester United I remember thinking how well Diarra played and at times he really bossed the Man Utd forwards, more of the same please Alou!

With Diarra's international career not being as prominent as it once was he will hope to work his way back into the French set up, at one point he was linked with the captains armband so its clear that he has the chance to regain the spot if he works hard at club level.

If Alou did leave I would have said that we needed to bring another midfielder just as a precaution but with it looking more than likely that he will stay I think we are set to go in that area.
