Hooper To Join QPR?

Celtic Striker Gary Hooper is set to join QPR according to various sources, in a deal worth about £5 million.
With QPR hoping to offload many of their first team, the capture of Hooper will be greeted with applause from many of the clubs fans.

Its well know that Hooper is looking to move away from Celtic after achieving everything he could in the SPL. With many different clubs interested in signing the forward it comes as a surprise to hear that he is willing to join a Championship club over a whole host of Premier League clubs who were reportedly hoping to sign him.

At £5 million I'm a bit disappointed we haven't made an offer to sign Gary, some may say he isn't the type of striker who would fit into West Hams' current style of play, but considering we are currently looking at a second or third striker to partner/assist Andy Carroll surely its worth the gamble?

If we are willing to pay £6.7 million for an unknown and Un-capped Columbian forward currently applying his trade in Argentina, why can't we put in an 11th hour bid for Gary Hooper?
In the SPL Hooper has been a constant goal threat, he's played in the Champions League and won numerous medals with the club, if completed this could prove to be a great bit of business from QPR.

If a bid was placed from West Ham you would expect Hooper to join a Premiership side over a Championship team but obviously our striking targets remain elsewhere, with the Zapata deal hanging on a successful work permit application; would putting a late bid in for Gary Hooper really do us any harm?
