As I reported last week West Ham were supposedly interested in signing Marseille midfielder Morgan Amaltitano but it would appear that any reported interest is now over.
The French club have accepted a bid from Greek side Olympiacos and a four year contract looks set to be agreed.
Although West Ham have missed out on their target; reports today are suggesting that the club are set to launch a £3 million bid for West Brom midfielder Graham Dorrans, interest in the player has been gradually building up over the last few weeks and it now seems possible that a deal could be struck.
At this current moment in time it would appear that the midfield area is the main topic of conversation, as previously mentioned; we are currently very strong in that particular area so I would be very surprised if more than one signing was made, with Alou Diarra returning from his loan spell with Rennes it could be possible that we see him feature throughout this season, although comments were made from the player criticising manager Sam Allardyce for lack of game time, it looked as if the player's West Ham career was over before it even started-but that doesn't seem to be this case as he has featured in West Ham pre-season campaign so far and we haven't heard any news to suggest that the player may be on his way out of Upton Park.
Should West Ham be focusing their attention on signing another striker instead of the midfield area taking priority?
