For the first time in a while we can sense a real feeling of optimism around West Ham, we have a good manager, owners who genuinely care for the club and a good set of players. We've even had players talking about wining trophies http://avidhammer.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/players-targeting-silverware.html
After reading various comments on forums etc..I think it would be unwise to get out of our depth at this current moment in time, for years we have been a described as a 'yo-yo' club, a statement I strongly disagree with, but we need to be realistic and say that the last few seasons in the Premier League before we got relegated were rather forgetful ones; most of the time we had just enough to keep our heads above water but we need more than that now!
Wise acquisitions have been made, another prominent area where the club have struggled in recent years; the areas that have been strengthened are those that needed it, not just for the sake of spending money and selling season tickets.
I am one of these fans that tries to take the good out every situation but I think it would be reckless to forget about the bigger picture. Finishing 10th last year was a massive accomplishment by Sam and the team-and if you offered any of us that opportunity again I like to think we'd all take it in a heartbeat.
There are many top quality teams who may feel they under achieved last season and there are other teams who are strongly investing into good players.
Either way I think we can agree that this up-coming has the credentials to be one of the best!
