What Ashton Could Of Achieved

I see Dean Ashton as a tragic case in football, a player who had so much talent, tragically cut short by injury; not to mention the fact that he was the most consistent and constant goal threat we have had in years.

At times I often wonder what could have been for the England forward?
I remain adamant that Deano would have eventually left us as he was attracting interest from bigger clubs who were aiming for the Champions League.
England were lacking a decent attacking partnership (still are), the perfect opportunity for him to prove his international worth, although it's a bit bold to say after just one appearance for his country; he had just as good of a chance that every other forward that has tried and failed!

We can't change the past but for the last few years West Ham could have done with an attacker with a good finishing touch.  Since Deano retired we have never really had a striker like him-and with the recent permanent signing of Andy Carroll we now have some hope re-installed, hopefully he can continue the good form from last season.
