Back in 2011 West Ham cult hero Scott Parker left East London and traded it in for North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur, a move some West Ham fans still haven't forgiven the player for.
With West Ham being relegated to Championship and Parker hoping to hold onto his England place it was inevitable that he would leave-and it was a move that initially worked out quite well for Scott; but recently he has found it difficult to establish himself in the first team due to injury problems.
With speculation mounting as to where Scott's future will be come September, with it looking likely that the midfielder could be linked with a reunion with the man who brought him to Tottenham, Harry Redknapp.
Nothing has been confirmed as of yet so Scott may not be willing to drop down a level to play his football and with £2 million being the fee reportedly required it's an affordable option for many clubs looking to add an experienced leader.
Now would Scott be welcomed back to Upton Park; or isn't he the same player he used to be?
I massively appreciated Parker's contribution during his time with us and he always gave 100% in the games he played in, at times saving us from humiliation.
Although some fans still hold resentment towards Scott for leaving, I personally don't.
He was an ever present figure for us and he really developed into a player we all hoped he would, admittedly leaving for our rivals doesn't help his cause but you have to respect that he was doing it for the good of his career-and lets face it he wasn't getting any younger.
With that being said, I feel that re-signing Parker would be a mistake, since leaving the man has struggled with serious injury problems and doesn't seem that have the work rate we all came to love him for, although it's a cheap transfer fee his wages won't come cheap. Also since leaving we have moved on securing the services (and hopefully retaining them) of Mohamed Diame, so I don't see where Scott would fit back in.
Would you welcome Parker back or not?
Drop me a comment either way!
