Australian international Mitchell Duke is set to join West Ham on a week long trial.
It is believed that Duke impressed West Ham scouts with his performances in Australia's participation in the Eat Asian Cup; where he netted 2 goals.
Mitchell has represented his country on 3 occasions scoring a couple of goals in the process and is held in high regard by his current club (Central Coast Mariners) who will be hoping to expose Duke to more first team football.
Only 22 years of age Duke will join fellow Australians Dylan and Taylor Tombides who are currently playing in the youth team.
If Mitchell proves himself on trial; we could see him assisting the first team one day and with West Ham still looking for another frontman, this could be a worthy acquisition.
If Duke is signed, should we continue to look for another striker?
After-all the A-League and Premier League pose as two completely different leagues in style of play, quality of opposition and players, so it would be asking a lot of him to come in and make an immediate impact.
