With over a month to go until the opening of the January transfer window; the rumors have already began on who will be our new frontman.
Players like Diego Forlan and Jermain Defoe are the two players that have been linked so far and according to reports their is some genuine interest in both players.
Defoe's recent interview in which he declared that he still 'loves' West Ham sent the rumor mill into overdrive and reports of a £6.5 million bid from ourselves and Qpr looks a certainty.
Firstly, I'm not sure if the West Ham board would be willing to pay that amount of money for a 31 years old. Defoe's ability isn't in question but he's desire to win a trophy is clearly evident and a move to West Ham at this moment in time isn't likely to provide him with silverware. I know we are still in the Capital One Cup and our Quarter final game against Tottenham could actually decide Jermain's future. With Tottenham still in the Capital one cup, Eurpoa league, FA Cup and even the Premier League, It's likely that he'll stay until the end of the season.
Onto to Forlan.
Uruguayan legend Diego Forlan is currently applying he's trade in Italy with Inter Milan and scoring goals at that.
Forlan is mostly remembered for his spell with fellow Premier League side Manchester United where many considered him a 'flop' for failing to live up to the billing. At the age of 34 it's believed that he would like to have one more crack in the Premier League, with Forlan likely to come with a hefty wage bill I can't see this deal happening but Forlan would offer the team some goals for sure.
Defoe or Forlan?
