West Ham United F.C have announced the departure of midfielder Alou Diarra, by mutual consent.
It's been reported over the last few days that the club were hoping to strike a deal with Diarra and it was earlier confirmed that the player and club have reached an understanding.
Joining back in 2012, Diarra has made just a handful of appearances for our club since his £2 million move from Marseille. He was expected to compete with Mohamed Diame for the holding midfield spot but struggled to force his way into the first team, with his debut game ending in a 3-0 defeat against Swansea after coming on in the 68th minute.
Apart from the lack of games; he has also struggled with injuries and even went on record to criticise manager Sam Allardyce and even his agent who set the move up. I got the vibe that Mr Diarra felt he would walk into the first team and when that didn't happen, instead of working hard to break his way into the team he just gave up, thus showing no willing to play for our - and for that reason alone, I can't say that he'll be missed.
